The Glaring Problem With Hiring In 2024

Bunnies, Butterflies, Birds, Budgets and B.S

That’s right everyone, spring has sprung, and everyone is everywhere.

The bunnies are taking over my backyard, the butterflies will be hatching soon, the birds start at 4am, (cute, but extremely loud), the budgets are in, for the most part, yeah!! And so much BS is floating around you don’t know where it started or if it will end.

AI is telling us that it will solve everyone’s problems; from fixing your resume, to finding a new job, to telling us how to interview. Companies are fishing for applicants just to see who might be interested. Employers are posting for new roles with a range of up to $100k, and no company is making a move!

And you want to know what’s wrong? THIS, THIS IS WHAT IS WRONG!

The bunnies can stay, the butterflies are amazing to watch hatch, so don’t hurt any caterpillars on the sidewalk and yes, the birds are loud, but, well, they are birds, and having the budgets come in, finally, is great.

But the B.S. must stop. I take pride in the clients I work with. They will hire, they won’t ghost me, and they hire within 2-3 weeks, not months or years.

This AI stuff is very real; It is great for some things, I get it, I really do. But to tell me what kind of role I should be in without speaking to me, to change someone’s resume so it looks like the job description and now, EVERYONE ELSE’S, and to coach you on what to say on an interview, without knowing your voice, your story, well, AI is not for everyone or every company.

Humans interview humans. Humans read resumes, yes, even after going through the ATS system if they even have one. But I will stand my ground when it comes to hiring, recruiting, and consulting.

WITHOUT THE HUMAN TOUCH, ARE YOU REALLY HUMAN?
