Your Best Resume: Not “What,” But “How & Why”

Resumes, resumes, resumes!! So many people have so much information and insight about how your resume should look and read. Who do you listen to? Who do you trust? As you all are now shaking your head and saying, yup, I will add my “two cents” because, well, as a Professional Recruiter of 32 years I believe I have earned that right.

My take on your resume:

  1. Don’t show what you did but tell me how and why you did it.

  2. Metrics when they should be there, and mostly, your resume must be able to speak to the entry level recruiter, to senior recruiter and all the hiring managers all at the same time. (yes, yikes!)

  3. Impactful, your voice (not AI), your story.

I am not a resume writer; I don’t believe in it. (Not to say some resume writers are good). But you are the one that did the work, you know yourself better than anyone else. With that said, I will always be there to guide you, help you, and support you. And I do have samples!
