What you need to know if you are job hunting

Do you problem solve, or do you solve problems? Do you think there is a difference?

I believe there is a difference between the two, and not that you need to agree with me, the more important aspect to this question is that you consider the question and think critically.

What I look for when I work with my career consulting clients is that they think about what they are saying, how they are saying it and how they are coming across. There’s more to a great answer than the actual answer itself; tone, body language, facial expressions for example. These are equally as important as the actual answer to the question.

Think about it. Most say communication is key; but what kind of communication are you speaking about?

People always tell me they love to problem solve, but how do they do it, why do they do it and did they always problem solve, or did they learn it? If you learned it, how did you learn it and why did you want to?

My job as a career consultant is to make you think so that when you’re sitting in front of your future employer at your dream job, you feel confident, capable, and in command of your thoughts and answers.

Working with me is the practice you need to bridge the gap between uncertainty, fear and doubt, and confidence!

That’s right, I will ask you questions that no one has asked you before and then ask you why you believe what you believe. The result of which will ensure you understand your Why, Purpose, and Value. When we’re finished, you’ will understand YOU more than you ever have before. You’ll know exactly what you are looking for, the kind of environment, culture you want to work in and what you’re passionate about.

Yes, there is more, but you get the idea. I take consulting very seriously, like you take your career search. It is more than just sending out your resume to see if it sticks. I am going to give you homework.

I am going to listen to you so that you are heard.

I am going to help you so you’ll find the job you truly want.

I am going to be here for you because the career search can be extremely difficult and tenuous.

I am going to help you ask new and different questions in an interview so you present better than your competition.

I am going to help you answer interview questions with confidence and showcase your experience and intelligence.

I am going to help you answer the dreaded question, “Tell me about yourself!”

I am going to help you help yourself in your career journey so you get exactly what you want and how to identify what you don’t.

I’ve been doing this work for over 30 years and it’s a privilege to help people like you move into the next chapter of their lives. If you WANT a new job but feel nervous, afraid or hesitant, schedule a free consultation with me. Together we’ll decide if it’s time to make a move or stay put.
