What Are You Willing To Accept?

I recently read an article that talks about how to make employees happy and what the trend is now and moving forward in 2023. But I didn’t read anything new. It seems to be repetitive on the news and the forefront of today’s hiring. Hybrid, remote or in the office. Flexibility is key, giving what employees want will make them happy. Some are willing to even take up to 18% cut in pay if they can stay home.

But what about promotions? Will you get promoted if you are not in the office where people can see you?

This has been going on for more than three years with covid, people. Making your employees happy should always be the number one priority, it’s simply that now we are allowed to speak about it more and make it more widely known. And why is that? Because of a pandemic, owners are now thinking differently!! What happened to them correctly thinking 20 years ago?

What happened to people using their voice? What happened to people respecting their needs and the needs of others? You will never make everyone happy, that is a given. Even if you give an employee what they want, eventually they will want something different. More money, promotion, lateral move, management, or they will just want to leave. Again, nothing has changed!!!

But it has. Employees have more say in what they want. If they don’t get it, they leave. If they do get it, they want more. Let’s not forget everyone who is still looking for their dream career, let alone, just a job right now. But they won’t settle. Why? Because they want it all. They are learning to ask for what they want.

Here is the question: Is this a good thing, a greedy thing, or a smart thing? Do you deserve everything you ask for? How do you decide what you should have in comparison to what you want? How do you know that you are taking the right role, even if they give you what you want???

One thing is certain in life, there is no guarantee. It can sound great, but what happens in 6 months, one year? What happens if you take a job just to take a job because you need a job for income, and it turns out to be more?

You can read all the articles,, all the time, but what it comes down to is you!

What are you willing to accept?
